Music & Laundry

This is what our weekends look like.  Music, laundry & family!  We are rocking this quarantine thing.

Pizza Dough (yummy)

What you'll need:

1 (.24 oz) package active dry yeast
1 tsp white sugar
1 cup of warm water
2 1/2 cups All-Purpose flour
2 tbs of extra virgin olive oil

What you'll do:

Pre-heat oven to 450.

In medium bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar with warm water.  Let stand for about 10 mins.

Stir in flour, salt & oil.  Beat until smooth.  Let rest 5 mins.

Turn dough onto floured surface and pat or roll into shape.  Transfer crust to lightly greased pizza pan, or cast iron skillet (I made two in my skills with this one recipe).  Add desired toppings.  Bake for 15-20 mins or until golden brown.  Cool slightly before cutting so the cheeses set.

Yard Fun @ Home

This poor child has been cooped up in the house with me and her two lazy brothers for two weeks, she is going bonkers with all that 6 year old energy.  Yesterday after I got off work, I took her outside with the only thing I could find in the house that would hold a lot of water (a small purple cooler) lol.  She filled it up and played for a while - before she got stuck lol.  As she was playing I remembered I still had an old plastic baby pool in our shed, dragged it out and cleaned it - and she played for the hours before the sun went down and she came in for the night (exhausted).

This is has been a good day!

I Scream, You Scream, We all Scream for Nice-Cream

So I've seen on facebook how you can make icecream out of frozen fruits, mainly bananas.  Well the last time the kids didn't eat the bananas right away & they got to ripe-I decided to cut them up and freeze them in the hopes of experimenting on some of this "nice cream".  Being at home due to spring break/vacation & quarantine due to COVID19 I have had a lot of free time on my hands and decided to give it a shot.  Threw everything in to the food processor and just hoped for the best.  My poor food processor just bounced those frozen bananas around for a bit, but finally gave up and blended it up.....and I have to say-it was amazingly good.  Next time, I am going to make chocolate and peanut butter..mmmmmm!

What you'll need:

2-3 ripe frozen bananas
I used 4-5 frozen raspberries for this experiment
splash as needed of Silk half & half

Added to food processor, blended until smooth-adding in a little milk as I went for the smooth consistency that I wanted.

COVID19 and US at HOME

I am going a little stir crazy, kids are out of is closing we will be spending lots more time at home.  Olivia and I decided to go into town and brave the plant store to get some yummy herbs (about the only thing I can grow) and a few food plants (tomatoes and strawberries).  I need to go back and get some squash and two more herbs though (mint and dill) to make my heart totally happy.  If I could grow some potatoes and onions I think I'd just live the best life, I love potatoes & onions!  My favorite food ever actually!

Anyway-here is the start to our little herb and food garden (growing everything in pots).

(sweet basil, lavender, German thyme, curly parsley, rosemary)

 (candyland tomatoes)

 (strawberry-duh) lol

(cute little owl-ow-just kidding aloe)

I'll keep you posted if we are good at this garden stuff...even if it is a tiny porch garden with only two food plants thus far.....don't judge :)

Everyone that knows me knows that I am not much of a dress person.  But I recently was watching a plus size Youtuber show off some stuff she bought at Target.  I was interested in seeing how she looked in these outfits since she was a little bigger then me, but had a very similar body type.  She looked amazing.  I went straight to to get the dress, and it was of course sold out.  Thanks to I was able to find this dress eventually & buy it. It sat in my closet for months until I got the nerve to just put it on and wear it to work.

Compliments were plenty, I felt pretty!  I love it.  I think I need to wear more dresses <3 What do you think?
