Happy Birthday Olivia - You're a Threenager!

Well today is officially Olivia's third birthday.  We celebrated with her on Saturday, with a small family gathering.  In attendance was her Granny Johnson, Aunt Crystal, Cousin Ty, Grammy Martin, Papa Martin, Weston, Daddy, Mama & a Mermaid Cake.

Olivia is just really the sweetest most darling child.  She is so thoughtful and caring.  She asks me when I get home, how my day was.  She tells me every second, literally, "I love you..." "mama I love you, I love you so so so very much"...and she means it.  When she talks to you, and professes her feelings she looks you deep into the eyes & it's a very emotional connection.  She and I have bonded like any mother & daughter would.  Our relationship is deep & complex sure, but it's also simple & sweet.  Enduring.

I am proud of her, she is an amazing little soul.  When people tell me how beautiful my daughter is, while they look at her smiling...I have nothing but pride & joy in my heart.  I say "thank you" almost giggling with happiness.  I didn't have anything to do with her physical beauty, aside from making sure her fingernails are cut, clothing is stylish & clean, and doing her hair.......but I did have a lot to do with her inner beauty.  Her strength, her kindness, her loving nature....I did help mold that great little mind into what you all see today.

She is a product of nurture and nature, but mostly nurture.  Her father & I couldn't even imagine a life without her.  I would not erase the past because the past would erase her.  Even if I could go back in time and change that; and I was promised I wouldn't even remember that she existed, I would just be in a perfect marriage-with no wrong turn......I would deny that chance.  I would never not want to know this girl, I would never not want her to be here on this earth for I have forever changed just knowing her, loving her, and having her love me.

I think that my family would agree with me, both my biological family & my marital family.  But beyond that, she's special.  She's meant for something wonderful.  Even if that is being a wonderful mother to her own beautiful children some day, having learned from her fathers, mothers, mamas & other family members mistakes and triumphs.  Even if that is to cure cancer, or be a nurse to ill children or adults.  She's something ya'll...just wait!

So without further ado, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEETEST OLIVIA, "MISS O", "O", "HEF", "PUNKIN'BUTT".....we love you beyond this earths scope of measure!

  1. YOU KNOW WHO I AMFriday, August 12, 2016

Even though I know you get so annoyed & hate it when people "compliment" you by saying, "you're stronger then I am", or "you're such a good person, I could never do that...", I know that those words not only offend you, but offend Olivia-but, you really are a strong woman. And not because of the task that you took on, but with the effortless way you did it. Your grace is really something to be admired so maybe instead of getting offended or hurt when people tell you those things, you can be proud. Because you are doing something most people wouldn't do, most people don't have the strength or humility to do. God made you this way for a reason, certainly you must have known that your entire life. You have the ability to really love people, and love yourself. You're a blessing, and so you have been blessed.

I continue to pray for you and your family daily. You are a cherished friend.

  8. First....Happy Belated birthday to Miss O!!
Second....Lela....Lela.....Lela! Where do I begin! You are one of the most beautiful people I've ever had the pleasure to meet and I'm even more blessed because I am lucky enough to call you family. Your words are full of love for Miss O and anyone who knows you knows that she is as lucky to have you as you are to have her. I think back over our conversations over the past few years and while in parts my heart breaks for you, overall my heart just swells with more and more love. You are the true definition of love and loyalty and what it takes to be a real mom. Without even knowing it, you set the bar high for not only other moms, but women in general. We could all learn alot from you. You chose to open your heart and receive a blessing instead allowing hate to enter. You are the light in alot of peoples lives and especially lil Miss O's because with you in her life, she will always strive to be the woman and eventually the loving mother that you are. I wish not only her a happy belated birthday but I wish you a very happy mothers day all year long. You definitely deserve it. I love you girl and never forget just how special you really are!!
